Benefactors
Hartford
Seminary Library is grateful to the following benefactors:
The
Arthur Vining Davis Foundations
The Arthur
Vining Davis Foundations provided a grant for the Library to replace its
fixed shelving with compact movable shelving. The grant for $125,000
allowed the Library to renovate the lower stacks level. The new shelving both
increases shelving capacity and provides additional user space.
The
William A. Bird Memorial Fund
The
William A. Bird Memorial Fund provided a gift to license the Oxford English
Dictionary Online for one year.
Barbara
Brown Zikmund
Professor
Zikmund provided a major contribution of books from her library.
The
Estate of Philip Wallace Van Vlack
A
scholar and educator, Van Vlack's career focused on moral development, ethics,
and peace issues. The Library received a large collection from his personal
library in the Fall of 2000.
Fred K.
and Elizabeth Boyajian
The
Boyajians help to underwrite a growing collection of materials related to Armenian
Christianity. Their donation has supported preservation activities
for the Library's Armenian manuscripts as well as the purchase of recently
published materials.
