Hartford Seminary Library Information

Circulation Policies

• Seminary Faculty, staff and students may check out up to 25 books.
• Guest users may check out materials based on their annual subscription category.
• Reference materials and journals do not circulate
• Books circulate for 30 days
• Videos & Cassettes circulate for 7 day.

Fines:

• Books $0.25 per book per day 
• Videos/DVD/Cassettes: $1.00 per item per day 
• Interlibrary Loans: $1.00 per item per day
• Lost items:  $50.00 per item

Renewals:

• Items may be renewed two times if there are no hold requests for that item.
• Please call 860-509-9500 or email circulation@hartsem.edu three days before the due date.  
• Overdue fines will be charged if item(s) are renewed past their due date.
• Students & guest borrowers of the library may renew item(s) or check due dates themselves at opac.hartsem.edu  or library.hartsem.edu and by going to the catalog.

• Click onto "Logon" and enter your Institution ID as well as your last name.  To renew item(s), check the “Renew” box next to the item(s) you want renewed and click the renew button once.  A “Renewal Status” box will appear with the information if your item(s) has been renewed or not.

• Interlibrary Loans cannot be renewed online. 

Interlibrary Loan Policies: (Students & Guest Scholar Members) 

• Interlibrary Loans are due by the date on the book wrap.  The book wrap also has information about the possibility of renewal of the book.

• Renewals must be requested three days in advance of the due date by calling 860-509-9500 or email circulation@hartsem.edu. Overdue fines will be charged if item(s) are renewed past their due date.  Renewals are at the discretion of the lending library.  Interlibrary loans may be renewed once.

• Overdue Interlibrary loans have a $1.00 per book per day charge.

• Interlibrary loan privileges may be suspended if abused. (Excessive amount of overdue interlibrary loans)
